Alexis (Lex) Hunter (she/her) is a PhD student in the Educational Foundations, Policy, and Practices (EFPP) program at CU Boulder. Lex is interested in how marginalized youth leverage technological advances (ex. social media) that dominant society has deemed as purely entertainment to advocate, dream, build community, and engage in healing practices that sustain them in the life-long fight for liberation.
Godwin Amouzou (he/him) is a student of passion. From gaming to education, interrogation of the way the world works is at the forefront of Godwin’s mind. Godwin is a student hailing from CU Denver and the Esports coach for the Youth Empowerment Broadcasting Organization (YEBO). The stories of his communities inspire him to critically engage in worlds that already exist and pose the question… how might we remix existing spaces and make new worlds for people like himself?
Jadyn Nguyen (he/him) believes the key to this universe is living and being your full self. He is the Ideas Bender at the Youth Empowerment Broadcasting Organization (YEBO). At YEBO, Jadyn is responsible for ensuring the YEBO learning spaces include elements of Belonging, Wellness, and Independence. In the fall of 2019, Jadyn co-founded Future10X, a fellowship to ‘reimagine the future of education’ for young leaders.
Denver born, when Jadyn isn’t working he enjoys spending time with loved ones, playing Valorant, or reading books.
Ashieda McKoy (she/they) is a doctoral student in the School of Education at University of Colorado Boulder. With an emphasis on Learning Sciences and Human Development and Teacher Learning, Research, and Practice, Ashieda is particularly interested in designing teacher learning environments using an Afrofuturist lens. Specifically, in the LiTT lab they are passionate about how teachers, students, and communities collectively envision new future worlds/learning environments through video games.
mariel reyes galvez (Mari)
Mariel Reyes Galvez goes by “Mari” and uses She/They pronouns because of her simultaneous connection and disconnection to her femininity. She is a proud member of the Youth Empowerment Broadcasting Organization, known as “The Motherboard” Mariel is a facilitator of The Remix elective, in house streaming expert/ production support, and historian of YEBO; hoarder of digital memories for all to look back on fondly. Outside of work Mari is an aspiring filmmaker, twitch streamer, and writer. She enjoys playing a variety of video games and the community that has welcomed her in so graciously. Throughout this project Mari hopes to model ways to question IRL injustices that manifest themselves in a game like GTA, in turn creating a true gateway to a metaverse where “utopia” is something we accomplish together.
Marc Wagoner (he/him) recently graduated from CU Boulder with a BS in chemistry. Life is basically in full transition now as I figure out my next steps but I’m planning on enjoying this summer along with getting things in order professionally. I’m really looking forward to being able to set my athletics and health as a priority because my attention isn’t taken up by school. I’ve been a part of the squad since the fall of 2021, so I’m officially one of the old heads in the group ;)

B.B. Bonez [He/they] is an online personality created in 2018 as a form of self-expression and self-discovery. (My name is Bert, but everyone calls me BB). Through GTA Roleplay, BB learned to not only accept themselves, but be unapologetically themselves. In doing so, they also discovered their love for roleplay. This sparked a fire inside of them, seeing as this online space fostered inequality, homophobia and seclusion for LGBTQIA+ gamers. Since then, they have moved on to numerous games and learned the power these spaces hold. When they’re not in the city, they can be found live on Twitch four days a week, spreading the love and vibes to their amazing community. BB has worked in many projects to continue fostering safe-spaces in the online world since. Oh, and BB is me! Hi! <3
